DAY 1

- Airport pick up

DAY 2

- Visit Bran Castle, the most famous from Transylvania due to its association to Vlad the Impaler and Bram Stoker’s fictitious Dracula character

- Visit Rasnov citadel, laid on the top of a mountain overlooking the region

- Lunch

- Explore the medieval town of Brasov and have a 2-3 hours walking tour of the historic center.

DAY 3

- Travel to Viscri and see the wonderful white fortified church in Viscri – legacy of the German Saxons living in this region for 800 years

- Pass by Sighisoara – a charming medieval citadel laid on a hill. We’ll visit the Clock Tower, torture and artillery rooms and have a walking tour of the defense towers and main buildings

- Lunch

- In Biertan you’ll visit the most beautiful fortified church in Transylvania

- Dinner

- Accommodation in Sibiu

DAY 4

- Visit the Village Museum and learn about the traditional rural life and architecture. It is the largest open air museum in South-Eastern Europe

- Lunch in a village with home-cooked food

- Visit one of Sibiu’s museums: History, Art, Saxon heritage, pharmacy

- Afternoon walking tour of the medieval townof Sibiu – European Cultural Capital and 2007 and a cultural hub in Romania

- Dinner

- Accommodation in Sibiu

DAY 5

- Driving to the historic town of Alba Iulia where in 1918 Transylvania united with Moldova and Wallachia to form Romania

- Lunch

- In the afternoon drive to Hundoara and visit the imposing Gothic Hunyadi castle

DAY 6

- Drive from Sibiu to Bucharest for 5 hours

- Lunch

- Visit the history museum

- Afternoon guided walk in the historic center

- Discover Bucharest with its historic, communist and cultural heritage. Highlights:

- Art Museum
