Danube Delta

DAY 1: BUCHAREST-CONSTANTA (226 KM)

After arriving at Bucharest Airport or Bucharest train station, you will meet with our our tour guide. Before your arrival at Constanta, you will make a stop-over at Murfatlar’s rathskeller where you will visit the Wine Museum and you will be offered a wine tasting. At the Hotel Palace from Constanta, you are awaited with diner, a welcome party and a traditional dance from Dobrogea.

DAY 2: TOMIS CITY TOUR

After breakfast, the first part of the day is reserved for a town tour. You will visit the History Museum, the Mosque from Constanta, builted by Carol I. From the tower you will have a great view of the city and the sea. Then, you will take a walk on the cliff an see the old casino which features sumptuous architecture and a wonderful view of the sea. After a romantic walk on the cliff, you can serve lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon you will have time to take a bath in the black sea. In the evening you are going to take the twin-deck bus to see the city Constanta and Mamaia by night. Dinner and accomodation at hotel from Constanta.

DAY 3: BACK IN HISTORY (170 KM)

After breakfast, you are going by bus to Adamclisi, where you will visit the roman ruins and the monument builted after the daco-roman battles. After the visit you will go by bus another 20 km, for visiting the Cave of Saint Andrew, located in a forest. Here there is also a spring where Saint Andrew baptize the people.  After the visit, you will get in the bus and come back in Constanta. The rest of the afternoon is free. Dinner and accommodation in Constanta.

DAY 4: CONSTANTA-TULCEA (125 KM)

You will go to Tulcea, and get accommodation at a floating hotel.  After that you will head through Sulina Channel. After an indulging lunch we will stop at Dunarea Veche, near Crisan Village, from where the rest of the afternoon will be reserved for a journey with motorboats, having the chance to observe more closely the beauty of the Danube Delta.

Diner and accomodation will be at the floating hotel from Tulcea, where optional we can have some entertainment (movies, dancing, karaoke etc).

DAY 5: THE DANUBE DELTA

After breakfast, the first part of the day is reserved for a journey with motorboats in the pictoresque regions of the Danube Delta: Bogdaproste Lake (area populated by a large amount of birds), Trei-Iezere Lake, Radacinos Lake , Eracle Channel (a very special and pictoresque place).

After a fishbased lunch we’ll be heading to Mila 23, the birthplace of the canoe Olympic champion, Ivan Patzaichin. Further on, we’ll ride a paddle boat on the Fortuna Lake (a haven for birds such as pelicans, swans, cormorants) passing through Olguta and Sontea Channels.Diner and accomodation will be on floating hotel from Tulcea, where we have a range of optional activies (movies, dancing, karaoke etc).

DAY 6: MACIN NATIONAL PARK (160 KM)

After breakfast, you will go on the National Park of Macin Mountains. It is known as unique in its own way among the mountains of the country: an avalanche of huge granite blocks clustered over each other. There you can stay and make a picnic, as an optional choice.

The rest of the afternoon is reserved for a fishing contest.

Diner and accommodation will be at the floating hotel from Tulcea.

DAY 7: TULCEA-BUCHAREST (285 KM)

After breakfast, you will depart towards Bucharest. Once you arrive in Bucharest you will will go on a city tour by bus continued with a pedestrian tour.  The itinerary will include: Free Press Square, The Arch of Triumph, Victory Square, Revolution Square (Romanian Athenaeum, Revolution’s Memorial), The Palace of Parliament,  The Union Square, The University Square,  Romana Square,  Charles de Gaulle Square, St. Anthony’s Church (the city’s oldest), the CEC Palace (first bank in Romania), National Museum of History, the National Military Club, the Palace of the Telephones, the former National Theatre and the Palace of Parliament.

After the tour ends you will have lunch at a restaurant from the city centre.

In the afternoon you will depart from Bucharest airport.
